Mexico's artists are famous for their ingenuity and unique sense of form and color. In many cases, the appreciation of the countries natural beauty and the sometimes very intricate sense of humor is playfully integrated into works of art. A great variety of regional crafts is to be found in selected stores in Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. To give just a few examples: Black clay and hand woven textiles and rugs from Oaxaca, beautiful colonial style furniture from Michoacan, ceramic, blown glass, leather and paintings from Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque and Tonalá, masks from different Indian cultures, all the way from Yucatan in the south to Sonora in the north of the country and, naturally, silver from Taxco in our home state Guerrero.
Your guide will make sure you are introduced to some of the most interesting
shops and give you expert advise on where, how and at what price to purchase.
The limited duration of this tour obviously does not allow for an extensive
shopping spree, but it will show you the places to go when you are ready
to spend your money.
